The Jury

The selection of the winning projects from the submitted academic works requires a high-calibre jury. The jury of the Global Simulation & Gaming Award is not only international but also represents a variety of academic discilplines.

 

Dr. Jigyasu Dubey, Centre of Excellence in Simulation and Gaming, Professor and Head, Department of Information Technology, Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya, Indore - India

  • Ph. D. in the Faculty of Computer Engineering in the field of Computer Networking and Peer-to-Peer Computing
  • Worked as a reviewer of IEEE Transaction on Network and Service Management and Journal of Experimental & Theoretical Artificial Intelligence published by Taylor and Francis
  • More than fifty publications in peer-reviewed International/National journals, and International /National Conferences.

Dr. Willy Kriz is a Professor for Human Resource Management and Leadership at Vorarlberg University of Applied Science, Austria: 

  • Founder member of SAGSAGA
  • Development and realization of simulation games
  • Director of and lecturer at the ISAGA summer school

Dr. Elyssebeth Leigh is a highly qualified educator and a recognised leader in experiential and simulation-based learning. 

  • Doctor of Education, University of Technology Sydney
  • Author – most recently “Facilitating Simulations” Leigh and Levesque (2024) Edward Elgar 
  • Served on the Board of ISAGA and as General Secretary for 4 years; and on the Board of Simulation Australasia for two terms
  • Recipient of the Ray Page Award for lifetime services to simulation in Australia.

Dr. Heide Lukosch is a Associate Professor at University of Canterbury, New Zeland at the Human Interface Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Engineering: 

  • Media and Social Scientist
  • Designing and evaluation of simulation games for complex systems
  • Chair of ISAGA, member of the Academic Committee of SAGSAGA

Dr. Igor Mayer is a Professor at Breda, University of Applied Sciences in Serious Games, Innovation & Society, Academy for Games and Media (AGM) and a Professor at Tilburg Universtity for Playful Organizations & Learning Systems, Dep. Organization Studies, Faculty Social and Behavioral Sciences

Dr. Elisabeth Tipton is a Professor Emeritus at Eastern Washington University, USA. Her field of research is Decision Science (Data Analytics): 

  • I have spent over half of a century playing and designing games and simulation due to my grandfather and father’s interest – a long long story and why I ended up becoming a data analytics professor before the field even existed.
  • Besides the usual book chapters, journal articles, and presentation papers, I have done many workshops at multiple different conferences on many topics with many co-presenters over the years, including students and even some of my fellow jurists.
  • As part of the International Simulation and Gaming Association, I organized the 2010 conference, and was on the executive board for several years. I still serve as a reviewer for Simulation and Gaming as needed.

Dr. Friedrich Trautwein is a Professor for Business Administration at the DHBW Stuttgart and the Scientific Director of the Centre for Management Simulation: 

  • Chair of the Jury for the Global Simulation & Gaming Award
  • Co-responsible for the research forum on SG, the European Simulation and Gaming Forum as well as the ZMS publication series on SG
  • Research on methodological and didactic aspects of SG
  • Honoured with the state teaching award for outstanding and innovative concepts on facilitation of SG
